The Letter...

K
Hi, my name is Kristie. I’ve always thought that the letter ‘K’ was a nice letter. It has a pleasing aesthetic, it’s fun to write, especially in cursive, hah. And something about the tone is somehow sufficient. Apparently, someone else thought so as well, circa 1888…
When George Eastman first developed his plans for transparent roll film and subsequently the box camera, he realized he also had to think up a new, distinctive name for the company. Eastman explained:

“I devised the name myself. The letter ‘K’ had been a favorite with me—it seems a strong, incisive sort of letter. It became a question of trying out a great number of combinations of letters that made words starting and ending with ‘K.’ The word ‘Kodak’ is the result.”

This was part of the Kodak advert on tv here and I thought it was very clever.
